Mommy and Me at the Playground

It's time for Mommy and Me Monday meme again. A time to pop out from behind that camera and capture yourself in action with your kids. Check out the inaugural Mommy and Me Monday for more information.

Anyway, last weekend, we went to the playground for a while to enjoy some of the sun we had yesterday. It was beautiful out and so we thought of stopping by at the playground nearby before we went for grocery shopping! We had so much fun since it is our first time to be at this play ground. They have tons of things out there which I find very amusing for my son as well to do!

So, I asked my dear husband to take some of our pictures together (me and my son) while sitting at the fake rocks! He wasn;t smiling for the first time so I asked for the second shot! But....

He smiled, but I'm wearing my sunglasses this time! What a silly picture of us! Well, we had so much fun!

Mommy and Me on Reading Time

This week on Mommy and Me Monday:

Most of the day, me and my son spent most of our time reading together. Although, he doesn't know how to read yet, but he does love to pretend he was reading. I thought it might be a sign that he really wanted to learn how to read. So, I always make sure, I read books with him during the day. It was tough since he always asked me to stop reading because he wants to read it himself. It was so funny because you can't even understand most of the words he said, but it rhymes though.

This time, we're reading his all time favorite book, Thomas the Tank Engine, one of the  book series entitled Thomas-saurus Rex.

This he was reading and he wanted me to just sit beside him! So, I took  a shot of us instead! LOL!

Divorce Settlement

It’s been a year since my sister moved out of state of Michigan to move out to Texas. Then, while staying at Texas, she eventually filed for divorce. Filing a divorce is hard especially if you don’t really want to leave the person, but there are things that keep you from doing so. It was a tough decision, therefore, through those times, I’m with my sister. She was quite a very strong woman, but with her divorce settlement, she was indeed having hard times. Need a Hard Drive?

Last week of October, my sister and her boyfriend came to stop by at our house during their road trip from IN to CT and stayed for the one day and one night. During those times, I had to check out her new notebook. I thought notebook is quite convenient, but not if you are a heavy computer user. Since notebook has no enough internal hard drive, then you might need an external hard drive if you decide to own a notebook. I told my sister about it.

Eventually, they have one external hard drive because her boyfriend has to have one because of his studies. Well, I guess they nailed it. Since my husband wanted to have a notebook too, therefore he might need an external hard drive as well. So, why not get a real laptop computer then? Just a thought!

Since we moved into our new home that’s where the time when we switched to a new cable TV provider. It is because we can’t have the old cable TV provider and we don’t like their service, but it is about the house. The cabling system wasn’t properly aligned to the cable box from outside which ends up nothing. We can only have cable TV and internet in our bedroom which was not our plan at all. Mommy and Me at the Apple Orchard

This week on Mommy and Me Monday:

Pardon me for being late again to post my entry for this week, since I've been suffering a lot due to my morning sickness due to pregnancy. I was having this weird feeling that I haven't had before. Plus, it's getting cold here in Michigan which was quite annoying sometimes because I felt so cold and then suddenly, I'm hot! I don't know, but I was having hot flashes as well which made me so tired and sick.  No throwing up though, lucky me! LOL!

Anyway, last weekend, it was my mother in law's birthday party so we're all at her house. She started sharing photos and then she handed me some of the pictures that she took during our family apple picking time and some of photos she took when my husband and my son went with her up north for vacation last Labor day. It was a very cute picture! I'm so glad she gave me a copy of it.

So sorry for the quality of the picture. It maybe because the camera was not digital. I know, my dear MIL hates digital cameras, so she was still using those rolls...:)

Weight Loss Story

Want to hear my weight loss story? If you do, then let me tell you some important things about losing weight. My sister has been working out and after a couple of months, she lost weight. She had been enjoying her slim body for only a couple of months and then she got pregnant. It was sad but she was so excited about it.

Then, I did the same thing. I worked out for a couple of months ago and thankful because I lose weight. From medium size on junior, I now wear XS. I was so happy about it. Then, after a few months, I found out I was pregnant. I think it’s true that overweight can affect fertility. I think if you lose weight then you will have a healthy fertility and have a tendency to get pregnant.

Now, I’m thinking maybe it is better to just not consider working out then? What do you think?

Throwing Tantrums

In an Asian diner at Lakeside yesterday, our three year old decided to throw the mother of all tantrums - much to the public’s delight. Good thing we decided to eat out during 5 pm or else we will be all in shame of his crabbiness. He was just kept springing out of her seat and doing laps around the tables and did it over and over and over again. We asked him to stop and just settle down which only lasted for seconds. Then, he will do it again. If we asked him to just sit down and maybe eat something, he will just ignore me and rather cry and scream.

Even though, he was acting like that, we still brought him inside the store when we bought some groceries, when we were there, he started acting cranky again. He wanted something which we couldn’t allow him to have because we don’t want him to just get what he wants whenever we went to a store. So, he acted so mad and just screams out of his lungs. My husband was so mad and just wanted to get everything done right away. So I told him that I could check the things out and just go with the car with him. It was a nightmare! This is the first time that he was indeed acting so out of line. He was just out of the limit.

I know that a major role in parenting is teaching children the proper behavior when out in public. The phrase is that they’re just kids' is not acceptable behavior or reasoning on the part of responsible parents. it's common logic that if a child is making a scene in a public place, temporarily leave that area and either calm the child or if the child is old enough to comprehend, let them know that their behavior is simply unacceptable. But, the thing is, no matter how good and excellent the parenting were, it always depend on the child’s attitude.


Well, I’m hoping for the best here. I hope he will outgrow this attitude soon.

Coupon Scanning

Today, I went to buy some things for my son when I almost forgot to use a coupon. So I took it out of my purse and guess what, when the cashier scan it using a barcode scanner,still it didn’t work. I thought I just got those coupons and why the scanner can’t read the coupon's barcode? The cashier checked on it for a while and then she called the manager. It wasn’t our first time to use the same coupon and at all times, they always accept it anyway.

When the manager came, she was just so nice and accepted the coupons anyway. Then, the cashier said that I was saving $10 today! I thought I know and she seemed like she doesn’t want me to save money. She was just an old mean lady! Why does she work at the front end, anyway? They should put her at the stock room!
Well, of course, I stay calm and just let it go because I don’t let anyone ruined my day!

I was so late with making this entry, but no one's gonna stop me! LOL! Anyway, I asked my husband what he likes about shapes and he told me he likes squares!

Then, let him show me some of the square shapes he likes and he showed to me his puzzles. I don't know if the puzzles are squares, but I think he was just thinking they are! Or maybe just the box!

Queen Victoria

This week on ABC Wednesday is letter Q. Q for me is Queen Victoria.

Have you ever seen the movie The Young Victoria? The first time I saw the movie, I fell in love with story! This is such a wonderful, endless love story ever that are true to life story.

Anyway, if you haven't seen the movie yet, it is all about the eighteen-year-old British royal Victoria ascends to the throne. Who was born into a royal house where hidden agendas flowed like wine, the young princess was torn between the wishes of two powerful uncles, a fickle parliament, and a mother who wished to rule as regent until Victoria turned twenty-five. “Even a palace can be a prison...” she laments at one point; but the future monarch proved to be more clever than her distractors gave credit for and went from royal pawn to master player seemingly overnight. She eventually met her match in the dashing Prince Albert, a distant cousin from the house of Saxe-Coburg, and their marriage grew into a most loving and productive partnership. Their love story is a joy ride that you don’t want to end – completely believable.

I found the story interesting, so much so that I want to read up on the history of the English monarchy. Nonetheless, this movie transforms two unattractive and desperately boring historical characters into delightfully beautiful and witty young people enchanted to be with each other and falling in love. No much history here but a a delicious movie ever!

Canal Holiday

By watching some reality shows and documentary series on TV, I found out about the canal in UK several times. I thought it might be so relaxing and fun to ride on one of the boat and explore the beauty of canal and rivers. I also find out about the Canal Rivers from the movies I saw a few years back which some scenes are taken from any rivers famous in UK. I thought what if I could go and visit the place, but how? So, I went online and I found this canal holiday adventure getaway. I thought this is what I was looking for, if I wanted to go to any of the rivers I wanted to visit and explore. There are a lot of rivers you can choose from which at the same time you can still ride on the rental boat. Some of the boat I found is the Pearlbrook, Guildford Knight, Sam's Drum, and the Silver Darlings and more! I thought if you are so into rivers and wanted to have a holiday getaway in the boat, you will love this vacation.

Anyway, my husband would love this idea! He loves riding boats and maybe to spend a few days with a rental boat might be his dream vacation while exploring the Canal Rivers and maybe go fishing at the same time. This is going to be the best vacation ever!

My Nephew

This week on Silly Monkey Stories is not about my son, but my nephew after last December 2009 Christmas, I saw and meet him again. Last week of October they came to visit for just a stop over and finally met him for the first time. I was so surprised of how big he was now and walking!


At first, he was so skeptical about me, he always looked at me to observe and study of what I'm going to do with him. I always wanted to kiss and hug him, but he was indeed a mama's boy! He always looked out for his mama. It takes a while for him to get used to me, he was smiling at me, but he never let me to touch him.

At times, my son was just looking up to him, he wasn't do anything. It was also the first time that he was old enough to see his cousin for the first time.  It was so sad because my sister lives at CT and for them to grow up together is so impossible.

One thing I noticed about my nephew is his passion for doors. He always spent most of his time playing with the front door. My sister told me once that he hurt himself by playing with the door. So, when I saw him at the door, I was scared that he might hurt himself again. Surprisingly, he didn't. He knew what to do. What a smart silly monkey!

Anyway, I was so glad to see him again after last December 2009. He's getting so big! I was looking forward to see them again next year!

Need New Roller Blinds

Since we came here into our new home a year ago, some of the things I love about the house were the living room blinds because it was so easy to roll up and down and I could choose either the top to roll down or from the bottom. It was very customable which was so right for my preferences which is the top roll down to just let the sunshine comes in for the day while not being seen from outside. Then, when you go to our bedroom there are blinds, but not the same as what we have in the living room, so it was limited just like those old type of blinds.

Actually, I was thinking of getting a new roller blinds for our bedroom because the one we have right now wasn’t seemed to put us into a privacy situation. During night time, I noticed that we are visible from the outside which is not a good thing. I told my husband about it and he thought it is possible and our neighbor can see us from here. It was not good news for me because I always change clothes on this area of the room and now I always make sure I was in the closet to changed clothes. This is a nightmare; I really need new blinds as soon as possible.

This photo was taken when I found out that I was pregnant and my son will soon become a big brother! I took a pregnancy test in the morning of this day and yet the result is surprising! Then, when my dear husband came home from work, I told him about the special news and we bought very happy about it. We never expect it, we don't have plans to have more babies yet, but if it's God's will, then let it be. I know God has some plans for me and for all of us.

Kitchen Improvements for the Holiday

Last weekend, my husband asked me again what it is I really want for Christmas. I thought for a while and think, I have tons of things I wanted for Christmas, but of course, I need to narrow them down to the very and most important thing I really want for the holiday. Then, I told him that I wanted our kitchen sink to replace. He thought and said that it was not what I want for Christmas. Then, I said it is now because I’m tired of cleaning out the stain and scratches off the sink and wanted to replace it with a new one undermount stainless steel kitchen sink that I long for a very long time now.

Then, my dear S/O thought about it and asked me what type of sink I want. I told him that darker color might be fine or a stainless sink. I love stainless because the stain is invisible and scratches are impossible. I thought of showing to him the wide selection of stainless steel kitchen sinks I found online.
