3. Of gifts you gave this year, which was really the closest to perfect for the recipient? = our gift to my sister's boyfriend. He was looking for a turtle neck sweater and we got it, and plus the color is the perfect one. He was looking for a white, turtleneck sweater and we got it!

4. What’s your favorite kind of gift to receive? = I like gift cards because I can able to buy what I want..

5. What’s your favorite kind of gift to give? = Usually I look for gifts that they can use. A gift where they could enjoy and use throughout the year...

So Upset

A few days ago, my husband and I together with our son went to my mother in law to helped her out for her Christmas decorations to be put up and for me to helped her put up her village and some other stuff. When we were there, my mother in law showed me what happened to her new faucet in her bathroom. When I was there, I was so upset with the guy who tried to fix the thing. Guess what he did? He is just so inconsiderate and morally reprehensible. He uses a chemical that is not safe for the new sink so he left some stains in it. Then, he broke her faucet and it never even work. I was so upset and I wish he will pay for it.
Well, now the sink is dead and she never even used it because it is futile now. I wish I could have some money to help her out and hire professional people to fix it and shop some new bathroom faucets for her bathroom. I am so sad and I feel so sorry about it and it also happened to her.

Got Christmas Present Yet?

Looking for the best gift ever for the holiday? Well, a few days ago, I asked my husband about what gift he wanted for Christmas. For a while he started thinking about it and I was too. I thought of treadmills after I saw my belly fat on the mirror the other day. I was so disappointed with it because I still have it after I gave birth to our son almost three years ago. Good thing, I have found some deals and coupons for one particular treadmill brand such as nordictrack. I never heard about nordictrack before but when I read some online reviews about the product, I was convinced. Maybe, I will try it myself and maybe ask hubby for the best Christmas gift ever for this year.

ABC Wednesday: V is for Visiting and Vacation

This week on ABC Wednesday is V. V for me is Vacation and Visit. And I am talking about not our vacation or visitation but of my sister's family.

This is a perfect week for us because my sister and her family came here in Michigan for a visit. They will stay with us for a week for a holiday vacation. I am so glad as well because I can able to see my nephew for the first time since he was born four months ago. He was such a cute little boy and very precious! I was so happy and the best Christmas gift ever that I could finally see him. He is such so precious to me! Maybe because he was my sister's son and I loved my sister (elders sister) so much.

Well, I have to go now and spend time with them...

Do a Dental Makeover for a brand NEW You!

I talked to my friend a couple of days ago after she gave birth to a healthy baby girl a couple of weeks ago. I had a chance to see the baby when she sent me some emails and I am glad they were both fine and healthy. The only problem is my friend needs a cosmetic dentist to do a dental makeover, why? Because basically in the Philippines, we never had been taken good care of, especially our dental needs, therefore, it is not a wonder for us to find out about losing teeth after giving birth. I felt so bad about what she went through and she also nursing her baby at the same time. Well, I guess they should check out Plano cosmetic dentist David Wilhite. He has been in the dental field for over years now and they can be rest assured for her to have a beautiful smile.

35 Months old Today!

My son just turned 35 months old today! Wow, days and time went by so quickly without even noticing it, sooner he will be a young man. I wish I could stop the time and make him a baby again. I don’t want a big baby. Well, I think I have to endure it or get a teacup morkie myself, instead. Oh well..

Anyway, my son is now 35 months old, nearly three years old. His birthday will be next month and somewhat I am so excited about it. I am excited what to make for birthday meal, what would be the theme and stuff, and what birthday present to get.
Before that, I need to get something else to be tackled about. Since, he is now nearly three, I am thinking about what was new about him. When it comes to those ABC’s and 123’s, he was already known about it. He just needs to have something to do so he can maintain remembering it. So my husband and I thought he might be curious now on reading and math concepts. So, my hubby, born to be a math teacher and tutor really had the patience to deal with kids, already thought his son on how, in phonics and math but the thing is, he always make it as a fun not a learning chore.

Unfortunately, he was addicted to watching TV, my husband and I tried to eliminate it though, but he was already on it. He’ll cry if we not let him to watch. So, we just had one or two hours of watching movie then stopped. One thing is for sure, he always love to hear either me or his dada to read books with him.
My mom reads a book with me when I was little, so by the time I was on my first grade, I already a fast reader. Now, I really wanted to make it happen on my son. He is such a good little boy and I am grateful about it. Sometimes, I spoke to him in Visayan, since hearing new words now will help him recognize them in print later on, and watching me as I read shows him how those letters and words comes together.
Well, it could be fun sooner when he was older enough.

Get an Eyeglasses for Less

It’s time for me to schedule an eye exam again but I was wondering that it might be something more other than paying the eye exam cost. I don’t have eye insurance; therefore, it is so hard for me to spend such a cost especially when I have something else that I really wanted to buy. So, I told my husband that if I had my eye exam then, my eyes grade is worst than before then probably I wouldn’t need to get a new pair of eye glasses. The last time we did so, we spent like almost $300 which is absolutely painful in my pocket. So, good thing I have read an article online about cheap prescription eyeglasses from Zenni Optical. Here’s the link if you want to read it too. The article is based experience review which I absolutely encouraged because reading a customer review is sometimes good enough to make a decision. LINK: http://www.examiner.com/x-28795-Brooklyn-Liberal-Examiner~y2009m11d13-Cheap-eyeglasses-are-a-reality-Check-out-Erics-review-of-Zenni-Optical

I have been looking for cheap prescription eyeglasses and good thing I went to this website and read this article. I have heard Zenni Optical before but I never had a chance to try their products. Now, that I need some new pair of eyeglasses, probably I can able to get one here soon. This is absolutely a good gift for me this holiday. I could get bunch of pairs. I knew it, it is impossible to get eyeglasses at very affordable price. You don’t need to wear designer eyeglasses frames; you actually pay for the brand not the eyeglasses itself. Trust me; it is not even worth it. I have tried it.

Now, I need to shop some new pair of eyeglasses at Zenni Optical before the Christmas day kicks in.

ABC Wednesday: U is for UP

This week on ABC Wednesday is U. U for me this week is the amazing and funny movie "UP".

Last weekend, I finally had a chance to watch the UP movie with my husband and we watched it again last night when my brother and mother in law came over for dinner. It was a very fun movie and we had a great laugh.

When I never seen the movie yet, I was wondering why is it called UP. Why? Because after a lifetime of dreaming of traveling the world, 78-year-old homebody Carl flies away on an unbelievable adventure, with Russell, an 8-year-old Wilderness Explorer , unexpectedly in tow. Together, the unlikely pair embarks on a thrilling odyssey full of jungle beasts and rough terrain. One of the scene that sudden me about the movie is when he lost his wife and the house. The story is very sweet too.

The movie is very amusing, from time to time a laugh would wave up the stadium seating but that couldn’t be helped. I found my emotions quickly switching from sadness to hilarity to concern seamlessly in this perfectly constructed plot. This is the best animation I've been to in quite some time and it is the first film I've watched.

Well, to reveal any more information would be to spoil the fun. Part of what I enjoyed about this movie was the original idea: a house lifted from its foundation by an enormous collections of balloons.

Anyway, the boy named Russell reminds me of my nephew too way back in the Philippines, he was really like him.

So, wonderful, "up" lifting movie. The main characters are totally endearing; what could have been sappy I put the DVD on my wish list for Christmas, too!

Christmas time is here and eventually a lot of people today had fun time shopping and looking for that special gifts for someone they love! And I guess I am among of these people. I have to shop for gifts for my husband, for my kid, for my mother in law, for my father in law, for my sister, her husband, her kid, and for a Filipino Christmas party that we were going to attend this coming Sunday.

I don't know what to get yet for them, but I was thinking of just getting a gift card, it is way easy and they can just buy what they want.

And I don't want to share it here because they might peek on my blog here and they will find out what I am going to get them especially my husband. He is kind a curious when it comes of what I got for him this Christmas, but he is kind a vocal about what he wants and he is asking for a new sweater.

Anyway, I am just going to share of what I am going to get for my kiddo: it's a drum set or maybe a guitar but not sure yet.

Guest Meme Thursday: Introduction on How to Join...

According to Wikipedia: Meme also known as the term Internet meme is a phrase used to describe a catchphrase or concept that spreads quickly from person to person via the Internet, much like an esoteric inside joke. The term is a reference to the concept of memes, although this concept refers to a much broader category of cultural information.

Based on TheDailyMeme.com's thoughts about meme. A meme is:

  • An idea that, like a gene, can replicate and evolve.
  • A unit of cultural information that represents a basic idea that can be transferred from one individual to another, and subjected to mutation, crossover and adaptation.
  • A cultural unit (an idea or value or pattern of behavior) that is passed from one generation to another by nongenetic means (as by imitation); “memes are the cultural counterpart of genes”.

  • I'm absolutely a meme addict, therefore, I made up this meme to share unto others and this is absolutely perfect because you can able to post any memes you can find online and share it to others.

    1. All you need to do is grab the meme where you think could be your "guest" meme of the week and it is up to you to share what the weekly meme's topic.

    2. Post your entry for Guest Meme Thursday every Thursday of the week, but not strictly required. You can post any day of the week until the next Thursday of the subsequent week. Note: You can post the same meme any time you want!

    T is for......Thunderbirds

It's time for my ABC Wednesday and this week's letter is: T.

T for me is Thunderbirds. A US Airforce Thunderbirds who made an airshow last July 2009.

To learn more of the Thunderbirds history:

The Thunderbirds were officially activated May 25, 1953, as the 3600th Air Demonstration Team at Luke Air Force Base, Ariz.

The unit's first aircraft was the straight-winged F-84G Thunderjet, a combat-proven fighter-bomber that had seen extensive action in the Korean War. Early in 1955, the Thunderbirds transitioned to the swept-wing F-84F Thunderstreak. In their first three years with the F-84, the team performed for more than nine million spectators in 222 shows that included tours of Central and South America.

In June 1956, the team moved to its current home at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. At the same time, the Thunderbirds traded the veteran F-84 for the world's first supersonic fighter, the F-100 Super Sabre --the aerial platform that would serve the Thunderbirds for 13 years. The F-100 years were memorable. More than 1,100 demonstrations were flown in the "C" and "D" models of the aircraft, thrilling spectators from the Far East to North Africa. In the middle of the F- 100 era, the team changed briefly to the F-1O5B Thunderchief. After only six shows in 1964, due to an extensive modification that became necessary on all Thunderchiefs, the Thunderbirds transitioned to theF-1OOD, a jet that was capable of air refueling, which allowed the squadron to fly greater distances in less time.

From 1969 to 1973, the Thunderbirds flew the Air Force's frontline fighter of the time, theF-4E Phantom II. In five seasons, the team performed more than 500 demonstrations while traveling to 30 of the 50 states, Canada, Central America, and Europe.

In 1974, the Thunderbirds converted to the T-38A Talon, the world's first supersonic trainer aircraft. The T-38 was more fuel efficient and less costly to maintain than the larger F-4. The team flew nearly 600 demonstrations during eight seasons with the Talon.

Early in 1983, the Thunderbirds reinstituted their traditional role of demonstrating the AirForce's frontline fighter capabilities. Transitioning to the F-16A Fighting Falcon allowed the team to demonstrate the very latest in fighter technology. In 1987, the Thunderbirds became the first U.S.demonstration squadron to perform in a communist country, as the team visited China. In 1991, theteam traveled to Europe for the first time since 1984. During the 30-day tour, 11 air demonstration swere performed in eight countries, including first-time visits to Switzerland, Poland, and Hungary.

In 1992, the Thunderbirds transitioned to the F-16C for their aerial demonstrations. The squadron was the last active-duty unit to convert to the upgraded model. The conversion took place simply because the team represents the rest of the Air Force and every frontline F-16 squadron employs the F-16C. The switch also made sense for logistical and combat-conversion reasons. In its rookie season, the Thunderbirds took their F-16Cs on a 17-day tour of Latin American countries. All totalled, 75 air demonstrations were performed before an estimated 6.6 million people in 1992.

The 40th anniversary air demonstration season was abruptly cut short after a pilot injury. The commander /leader was unable to fly the final 14 scheduled air demonstrations due to a lower back injury. The lead jet position serves as the platform for all the maneuvers performed during an air demonstration and as leader, his style of everything -- from making the majority of radio calls to his steady inputs of airmanship -- is critical to the success of every performance. The squadron still traveled to those canceled airshow sites and delivered poise, professionalism, and public relations inother forms, to include static displays, media orientation flights, autograph signings, and visits to local schools and hospitals. One of the highlights of the season was the 800th air demonstration flown inthe F- 16. More than 8 million people saw the Thunderbirds in 1993.

The 1994 demonstration season proudly ushered in the U.S. Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron's fifth decade. The Thunderbirds flew 67 air demonstrations in front of more than 6 million people, surpassing the 275 million mark for attendance. Traveling to the Far East in August, the squadron's 26-day "Thunder Over the Pacific" tour showed 1.3 million spectators in Alaska, Japan,Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Guam, and Hawaii the capabilities of American airpower.

Now, I'm looking forward to see some of their show next year!

A Silly Monkey Story: Got a Haircut

It's time for my Silly Monkey Stories and this week I am going to share about my son.

Last couple of days ago, my husband and my son went to my sister in law's house to get a hair cut, well I should say, a FREE hair cut. I thought that my son might be crying and be mad again because he is getting a haircut which he don't like at all since he has this thing that he does not want his hair to be touched or something.

Well, anyway, when they came home, I was surprised that hubby told me about it. He never cry, nor get mad when he had his haircut done.

    before

I was like that was something! They should take a picture of him! So, eventually I did!

    after

Yes! he should get a haircut once in a while since he will get some little curls when his hair is long which I find so cute but hubby wants it trim once in a while though...so.

Reflect on the characteristics of your best friend. What makes him or her so special?
~I think of being a good listener and keeper of secret. Plus, a characteristic of being so friendly and open minded. I have tons of friends who always have friends on the sides, so you can really be sure that these friends will always be there for you in times of trouble. But there are some friends who just so open minded with the idea because I have friends too that are so selfish that she does not want me to have other friends except her. So, I guess that's what some of friends made so special.

What is one quality you admire most in others?
~I think for being so patient and hard working. I have known a lot of people who really have patience in terms of dealing with others especially on the field of what they work at. I think these are the best trait to follow.

Describe an activity that you think is truly romantic.
~I think having a dinner at the beach or maybe at the top of the tower. I just love having romantic dinner at one of the exquisite place on earth.
